Betsey Lebow, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist · CA, CT, FL (tele-health only), NY licenses

For almost 20 years, Betsey has helped couples, individuals, and families do the hard work of change — not just managing problems, but building something they're genuinely proud of.

Her approach

Betsey works from a simple belief: most people already have what they need to create the relationships and life they want. Her job is to help them find it — and use it.

She is direct without being harsh, warm without being soft. She has a particular gift for seeing both people's experience in a couple simultaneously, which makes her especially effective with couples who feel deeply misunderstood by each other.

She doesn't believe in open-ended therapy that loses its direction. Sessions are purposeful. Progress is visible. And the goal is always the same: for the people she works with to leave better equipped than when they arrived.

A little personal context

Betsey has been married for 40 years. She raised two sons in Connecticut, both of whom are launched and building families of their own. She has four grandchildren. She grew up in a large family — seven kids — in upstate New York.

She brings that lived experience into her work. Not as a template for what relationships should look like, but as a source of genuine understanding of how complex and rewarding the long arc of a partnership can be.

She has lived in Fairfield County since 1994 and now gratefully spends her winters in CA with her grown children and grandchildren. She practices tele-health in four states (CA, CT, FL NY).
